Update a destination without replacing shared links

PrettyLinks turns long URLs into short, branded links on your own domain. When a destination changes, edit its saved link so published short URLs can point to the new address. The core add-on supports 301, 302, and 307 redirects.

Review click activity and tracking options

Click and unique-click tracking can record details such as referrer, IP address, browser, operating system, and host. Filter reports by date range and link, then view total or unique click counts. Tracking settings include IP anonymization, configurable click retention, and bot filtering.

Automate link changes and route visitors

PrettyLinks Pro adds keyword and URL replacements that turn matching terms in website content into branded links. It can also create a link automatically when you publish a post or page. Categories and tags help sort and filter a growing link library.

Alongside standard redirects, Pro supports cloaked, JavaScript, meta-refresh, tracking pixel, and branded splash page redirects. Route visitors by country, device, browser, operating system, day, or hour. Link rotation distributes traffic by weight or round-robin, while A/B split testing helps compare destinations.

Set an expiration date or click limit, then select where visitors go after a link expires. Scheduled link health scans flag broken destinations, and email digests identify links that need attention.

Compare reports and use additional tools

Advanced reports include click-history breakdowns, charts, KPI cards, and conversion tracking with a pixel for thank-you pages. Each link can have a downloadable QR code, with an optional inner logo. Pretty Bar frames third-party destinations in a branded bar using your WordPress theme. Redirect Turbo Mode can answer link requests before the rest of WordPress loads.

Set up and manage links in WordPress

Install and activate PrettyLinks, set WordPress permalinks to anything other than Plain, then open the plugin in the admin area and follow its onboarding wizard. The plugin works primarily in WordPress administration, and its front-end elements are theme-agnostic.
