PublishPress Revisions Pro: Review and Schedule Updates

PublishPress Revisions Pro: Review and Schedule Updates

PublishPress Revisions Pro gives teams a review workflow for changes to published WordPress content. Users edit a proposed revision in the familiar WordPress interface, including Gutenberg or the Classic Editor, and submit it to the Revision Queue. Changes wait for a decision instead of publishing automatically.

Review and schedule revisions

The Revision Queue gathers submitted changes in one place. Administrators can edit, delete, or preview a revision, then compare it with the current or a former version. Comparisons can show changes to content, categories, tags, featured pictures, page parents, and other options.

Revisions can also be previewed and moderated from the site’s front end. The toolbar is green for a pending revision and grey for a scheduled one. To publish an update later, choose a future date and schedule the revision; it will publish at the specified time.

Use Pro integrations with supported content

The Pro version supports Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), Yoast SEO, Pods, WooCommerce, WPML, Elementor, Beaver Builder, and many other add-ons and themes. Revisions can be created for pages and other supported post types, including WooCommerce products.

For a WooCommerce product, create a revision from the Products screen, edit its supported fields, and submit it to the main Revision Queue. Product updates can also be scheduled. Elementor posts and pages can be revised in the Elementor editor, with proposed changes then managed through the same review workflow.

Roles and notifications

WordPress roles shape who can submit and review revisions. Contributors can submit revisions to their own published posts, while Revisors can submit revisions to posts and pages published by others. Authors, Editors, and Administrators can approve revisions or schedule their own.

Administrators and Editors receive email when someone submits a revision. Emails can also be sent for revision approval and publication, and unwanted notifications can be disabled in the Settings screen.

Submit a content update

  1. Create a new revision for a published post, page, product, or other supported post type.
  2. Edit the proposed changes in the applicable WordPress editor.
  3. Save or submit the revision to the Revision Queue for review.
  4. Preview or compare it, then edit or delete it if needed.
  5. Approve, reject, or schedule the revision for a selected future date.
