PublishPress Authors Pro is a paid edition for managing author assignments and profile displays across WordPress content. Assign one or several authors to a post from the editing screen, then select how their details appear to readers.

Assign authors and guest contributors

WordPress normally assigns one author to a post. You can add multiple authors, including coauthors, from the editing screen. Create guest authors with the Guest Author visitor role or without a connected account. Each guest can have a profile, avatar, and individual archive page, and can be selected and displayed like an author linked to a WordPress account.

Choose how author boxes appear

Author boxes can show a contributor's name, biography, avatar, description, and other profile details. Choose from five default layouts, personalize one, or make a layout of your own. Place boxes below content, use them in place of the default author display, or add them to widgets and Gutenberg blocks. Shortcodes, filters, and actions in template documents provide other placement options.

Extend profiles and group contributors

Author Fields can include names, email addresses, sites, job titles, social profiles, and other details. The Pro edition supports Text, WYSIWYG, Link, and email address fields, which can be added to author biography profiles through custom layouts. Supported social profile examples include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok.

Author Categories let you label contributors as authors, contributors, editors, reviewers, photographers, or other roles used by your publishing process. The Author Categories Box groups authors by category in a dedicated display.

Build author lists and pages

Author Lists can display selected contributors. The Author Index sorts authors alphabetically and lets visitors choose a starting letter. The Author Recent view displays authors alongside their latest posts.

Author Pages can replace the default WordPress author pages without changing their URLs. Show an author box above that author's posts, choose a List or Grid presentation, and customize the page layout through the available settings.
