Build quizzes, exams, and surveys in WordPress
Watu PRO is a WordPress add-on for creating and publishing quizzes, exams, surveys, tests, polls, questionnaires, and similar assessments. It can display results immediately after a visitor completes a questionnaire, while points and grading rules help turn answers into useful outcomes.
The extension is intended for workflows that need more than a basic quiz. Its Pro capabilities include data exports, student logins, an elaborate grading system, categories, reports, and data analysis. This makes it suitable for education, training, assessments, feedback collection, and personality-style questionnaires.
Questions, categories, and quiz structure
Watu PRO works with single-choice, multiple-choice, open-end essay, required, and survey questions. Survey questions can be used without a correct or wrong state. Questions can be organized by category, filtered by category, deactivated when necessary, randomized, or selected randomly from a question pool.
- Create quizzes, exams, surveys, tests, polls, and questionnaires
- Use single-choice, multiple-choice, essay, required, and survey questions
- Organize and filter questions by category
- Deactivate questions
- Randomize questions or pull them from a pool
- Define grades and personality types
Quizzes can be embedded in posts or pages with shortcodes or published automatically. Answers can be shown at the end of a quiz or immediately after selection, depending on the intended experience.
Grading and results
You can assign point levels to grades and points to individual answers. Watu PRO calculates the grade from the total points collected. The result system can therefore support structured exams as well as quizzes that classify users by grade or personality type.
The plugin offers a list of users who took the tests and their results. Reports and data analysis support review of completed assessments, while CSV export makes results available for use outside WordPress. Questions can also be imported from a CSV file, helping with the preparation of larger question sets.
Participants and delivery
Student logins are included among the Pro capabilities described for fully featured use. The interface is mobile and touch friendly, so quizzes can work on mobile devices and phones. Ajax-based result loading is available, with an option to switch to regular loading.
Administrators can receive a notification when someone takes a quiz, and quiz takers can receive their results by email. Quizzes may be scheduled for a defined date and time interval. Results can also be shared on Facebook and Twitter. A basic bar chart can show user points compared with average points on a given quiz.
Additional administration features
Watu PRO includes GDPR-related features described in the source material, including not storing IP addresses and a personal data eraser hook for WordPress utilities. It can connect to MailChimp through the Watu to MailChimp Bridge.
Installation and first setup
Install Watu PRO in WordPress and open Watu Quizzes in the dashboard. Create a quiz, exam, or survey, add questions and categories, then configure points, grades, display behavior, notifications, and scheduling.
