Process and scale images

Premium includes 5x premium image optimization, PDF optimization, and automatic scaling for images, including images referenced in external CSS. Resize images on upload or in bulk, choose which WordPress thumbnails to create and optimize, and preserve GIF animations in thumbnails. Deliver formats to various screens

One-click WebP and AVIF conversion and delivery support next-generation image formats. WebP versions can be delivered to compatible browsers through Apache-style rewrite rules, JavaScript WebP Rewriting, or Picture WebP Rewriting. Enhanced responsive images use dimensions suited to different devices, while High-DPI delivery supports screens with 2x and 3x pixel density.

With the Easy IO CDN, images are compressed, scaled to fit page and device dimensions, lazy loaded, and converted to WebP and AVIF. Premium CDN delivery can also cover images, CSS, JavaScript, and fonts, with a custom domain name option.

Run website-wide image workflows

Bulk Optimize processes the Media Library, theme images, and selected folders from one page. You can configure folders within the WordPress installation, including folders used by supported galleries, sliders, avatars, and attachments. Scheduled optimization and WP-CLI are available for repeatable or command-line workflows.

Server requirements and setup

Local image optimization can use server tools such as jpegtran, optipng, pngout, pngquant, gifsicle, and cwebp. This mode requires the PHP exec() function and a compatible Linux, Windows, MacOS, or FreeBSD server. If the server is incompatible, the Compress API supports lossless JPG optimization and WebP conversion.
