XPoster sends WordPress updates to Bluesky, Mastodon, and X. XPoster Pro adds controls for choosing accounts, timing, and eligible content, so teams can fit social updates into their publishing workflow.

Route updates by account and timing

Authors can set up their own social accounts in their WordPress profiles. Updates can go to website accounts and author accounts at the same time. Delayed updates and scheduled update management let teams plan when messages are sent, and older posts can be scheduled automatically.

Select content and prepare its message

Taxonomy filters let teams select updates by category, tag, or custom taxonomy. For comments, XPoster Pro can preview and send status updates. Image uploads support alt attributes. Integrated Card support and Player Cards with integrated captions are available where supported.

Customizable status templates create updates for posts, pages, and custom post types when they are updated or edited. Custom template tags can generate text for individual entries, giving publishers control over how each update is assembled.

Base XPoster options

XPoster works with Bluesky, Mastodon, and X. Its other publishing options include using post tags as hashtags, replacing post permalinks with alternate URLs, Google Analytics support, and XMLRPC remote clients. External URL shorteners include YOURLS, Bitly, jotURL, and Hum. Rate limiting helps manage X.com API limits.

Configure the publishing workflow

Install and activate XPoster in WordPress, then open Settings > XPoster to configure its options. Create an application for a supported social network and connect it to XPoster. Set up status templates, then review author profile settings if authors will publish through their own accounts. Choose timing, taxonomy, media, Card, and older-post options to match the workflow. Before scheduled updates are sent, confirm the intended account and message details.
