Sidebar and Widget Manager: No-code editor, coded templates
Sidebar and Widget Manager lets you put widget areas in page or post content, including where a theme’s built-in sidebars and footers do not provide the placement you need. Its administration area fits into the WordPress interface, and the main editor workflow does not require coding.

Place widgets in page or post content
- Install Sidebar and Widget Manager in WordPress and create a custom sidebar, also called a widget area.
- In the page or post editor, insert the sidebar shortcode where the widget area should appear. Use the Insert Sidebar Shortcode button or copy and paste the shortcode.
- Go to Appearance > Widgets and add widgets to the new sidebar.
You can make as many widget areas as your layouts need and reuse them across pages or posts.
Arrange sidebars with OTW Grid Manager Light
For a page that combines text with widget content, place a sidebar shortcode at the relevant point in the content. When the layout needs several widget groups, use OTW Grid Manager Light to build responsive rows and columns, then insert the relevant sidebars into those columns with the drag-and-drop interface.
Place a sidebar in a theme template
For template-level placement, add the sidebar shortcode to a theme template file using WordPress’s do_shortcode function. This advanced method requires working with the template code.
