Show variation choices as swatches

Product Variations Swatches for WooCommerce Pro replaces standard variation dropdowns with buttons, colors, images, variation images, or radio swatches. Customers can view and select product attributes such as color or style on product pages.

Choose how attributes appear

In the options, search existing global attributes, pick horizontal or vertical display, assign a swatch type and profile, then edit the attribute terms. Product-list controls let you display or hide particular attributes in catalog views.

Pro includes the free version's capabilities and adds custom attribute settings for variation products. Enter the name of an existing attribute, choose the product categories where the customization applies, and select its display style.

Profiles set swatch appearance and feedback

Create unlimited swatches profiles or duplicate an existing profile to make another styling. Each profile can set its name, padding, height, width, font size, mobile size, product-list size, color, and box shadow. Hover and selected states can have their own color, background, border, box shadow, and size.

Tooltip settings include color, border, font size, and position. You can modify tooltip content and use an attribute image or variation image.

Control product images and unavailable variations

When a customer selects an attribute term, the product image can change to an image assigned to that term. This works with the various swatch types.

The extension can detect out-of-stock variation items and display them as blurred or crossed out. Choose whether unavailable items remain clickable or are hidden.

Setup and compatibility

Install and activate the plugin on a WooCommerce site, then open its swatches settings. Select an attribute, choose horizontal or vertical display, assign a display type and profile, and edit the relevant terms. Create or duplicate profiles, configure tooltips and selected states, then enable product-image changes or out-of-stock display behavior as needed.

The source states that the plugin works with WooCommerce 7.x or higher and PHP 7.0 or higher. It is designed for mobile devices and has an interface for configuring variation swatches.
