For WordPress sites using the Google News Publisher Center, GN Publisher PRO adds controls for feed output and publishing processes. GN Publisher creates RSS feeds designed to comply with Google News RSS Feed Technical Requirements. Its feed handling addresses incomplete articles, duplicate or missing images, missing media such as social media or Instagram embeds, missing or repeated titles, slow updates from cached feeds, and delayed crawling by Google.

PRO features and compatibility

• Content scraping protection: includes a feature intended to protect published content from scraping.
• Category exclusions: keep selected categories out of the main feed.
• Google News sitemap: includes compatibility for a Google News sitemap.
• Publishing utilities: supports workflows involving Flipboard, PublishPress Authors, TranslatePress and Yandex Turbo.

The GN Publisher feature set also includes compatibility with Apple News publishing and Google Reader Revenue Manager. Reader Revenue Manager includes publisher solutions intended to deepen audience engagement and convert subscribers or contributors.

Feed status and updates

GN Publisher displays when Google last pinged and fetched a feed. Publishers can use those times when investigating empty sections in the Google News Publisher Center. The add-on can also ping Google when feeds are updated, helping publishers manage updates for a Google News publication.

Setup and support

Install and activate GN Publisher PRO in WordPress, then open Dashboard > Settings > GN Publisher to check the feed URL and review the available settings. The extension dashboard includes further information about setup and troubleshooting for the Google News Publisher Center.

Questions can go to the WordPress GN Publisher support forum or the publisher's support team. GitHub is for qualified bug reports; it is not a general support forum.
