WordPress sends email through the hosting server’s PHP mail function by default. GoSMTP Pro lets you configure SMTP connections or supported provider APIs instead. Hosting mail limits and sending server IP reputation can affect delivery, so the route you select determines which mail infrastructure handles site messages.

Choose a connection for your website

Connect a custom SMTP provider or use SMTP.com, Brevo (formerly Sendinblue), Mailgun, SendGrid, SparkPost, SendLayer, Postmark, or Maileroo. Pro connections include Elastic Email, SMTP2Go, Gmail, G Suite, Google Workspace, Outlook, Office 365, AWS, Zoho, Resend, and MailerSend.

Mailer settings can include a nickname, mailer type, and backup connection. Send a test email through the configured mailer to check the connection settings and see the execution result.

What can you review in email logs?

Logging entries email sent from WordPress for reference, auditing, and troubleshooting. Entries show status, mailer provider, timestamp, and recipient details. Open one to inspect its body, headers, and delivery response. You can export filtered logs as CSV, resend an individual message to its original or a new recipient, or resend multiple messages from the log wizard.

Failed delivery notifications can go through Mail, Slack, Discord, Pushover, or a webhook. Pro email reports summarize sent and failed messages, display the overall success rate, and break activity down by day.

How does Smart Routing select a mailer?

Smart Routing chooses an SMTP provider based on message content. For example, it can route transactional alerts separately from marketing messages, giving critical email a route suited to its type.

AI abilities for email management

GoSMTP exposes abilities through the WordPress Abilities API for AI clients, assistants, and MCP adapters. Available abilities include retrieving settings, listing configured mailers, and sending a test email. The settings ability does not expose sensitive credentials.

Pro abilities add paginated email log listings, individual log details, filtered CSV exports, resending a logged message, and aggregated sending reports.
