Super RSS Reader Pro adds ways to place and arrange RSS and Atom feeds across a WordPress site. Use the Super RSS Reader widget in a widget area or place a feed show elsewhere with the [srr_feed] shortcode. Feed sources can include your own or related websites, forums, event or job listings, deals, Craigslist, Google News RSS, and other RSS sources.

Set up feed sources

Install the add-on, then add the Super RSS Reader widget where you want a feed display, or use the shortcode to place it elsewhere on the website. In the widget settings, enter multiple feed URLs separated by commas or on new lines. The widget shows those configured feeds in tabs. Feed merging combines multiple RSS feeds into one display.

Arrange and filter feed items

• Grid display: Arrange items in rows and columns.
• Pagination: Divide items across pages with a pagination bar.
• Keyword filtering: Show or conceal items based on selected keywords.
• Custom item templates: Change the order of feed content and add HTML to the item structure.
• Thumbnail fetching: Force a thumbnail fetch from the feed URL.
• Additional themes: Choose from four additional color themes.

Choose item details and styling

Feed items can include titles, dates, authors, descriptions, and thumbnails. Set thumbnails to appear on the left, right, or as a cover. Titles and descriptions can be trimmed, and items can be ordered by date or randomly. Dates can use absolute or relative formats.

The widget can use external CSS for customization. Its ticker effect is vertical; you can enable or disable it and set its speed. RSS and Atom feeds are supported.

Understand feed refresh timing

WordPress caches RSS feeds by default for 12 hours. Change the cache duration with the wp_feed_cache_transient_lifetime filter. Lower refresh values may increase server load.
