WordPress plugin
Shortcoder Pro
Shortcoder Pro adds editing and management tools to Shortcoder, a WordPress add-on for reusing saved code in posts and pages. Create a named shortcode with HTML, JavaScript, or CSS, then insert it wherever WordPress shortcodes are supported. When the page is displayed, the shortcode is replaced with its saved content. Update the saved snippet once to change it wherever that shortcode is used.

Create and reuse a shortcode
In the Shortcoder administration area, create a shortcode, give it a name, add its content, and save it. Insert it in a post or page using a shortcode such as [sc name="my_shortcode"].
Custom parameters let a saved snippet accept different values at the point of use. Add a placeholder such as %%id%% to the content, then supply its value in the shortcode, for example [sc name="youtube" id="GrlRADfvjII"]. This lets one saved snippet serve different placements without duplicating its full contents.
Pro editing and management tools
- Custom editor: Edit shortcode content with the block editor or page builder plugins such as Elementor and WPBakery.
- WPML translation: Translate shortcode content with WPML for multilingual workflows.
- Revisions: Keep revisions of shortcode content.
- Locate shortcode: Search posts and pages to find where a shortcode is used.
- Extra footer code: Include additional code in the footer when a shortcode is used on a page.
Placement and content limits
In the block editor, the Shortcoder block and toolbar button help choose and insert created shortcodes. A page builder block or area must support WordPress shortcodes for the saved content to appear. Shortcode content supports HTML, JavaScript, and CSS; PHP code is not supported.
