MainWP Pro provides access to premium add-ons for the MainWP Dashboard, an open-source, self-hosted tool for managing multiple WordPress sites. The Dashboard runs on a private WordPress website and connects to managed sites through the MainWP Child add-on.

Add-ons for the MainWP Dashboard

MainWP Pro add-ons are organized as integrations and extensions. Integrations connect the Dashboard with third-party services and plugins. Extensions are standalone add-ons developed for the Dashboard. Choose and configure add-ons to match the services and workflows you use.

Site and client management

Use the Dashboard to update WordPress core, add-ons, and themes across managed sites, including bulk updates. You can arrange scheduled or on-demand backups for maintenance and recovery planning. The Client Management module helps organize sites and client relationships, while Cost Tracker keeps client costs in one place.

Self-hosted and extensible

The MainWP management environment runs on your WordPress site. The Dashboard works with third-party development through hooks and provides a CLI and REST API for building workflows around your business. MainWP states that its plugins have their own privacy policies and do not collect personally identifiable information.

Setup sequence

1. Install the MainWP Dashboard on a private WordPress site.
2. Install the MainWP Child plugin on each WordPress site you want to manage.
3. Connect the child sites to the central Dashboard.
4. Install and configure the MainWP Pro integrations or extensions that fit your process.

After connecting the sites, use the Dashboard to organize them, review maintenance tasks, apply updates, arrange backups, and manage client or cost information.
