For a property catalog, visitors may need to combine taxonomy, date, custom field, and numeric range criteria. Search & Filter Pro lets you build these kinds of forms for WordPress content. You can also use it to filter posts and pages without a traditional search box.

Choose the fields and controls

Forms can filter by categories, tags, custom taxonomies, post types, post dates, authors, custom fields, and post meta. Combine fields to fit the content visitors need to browse. Display them as dropdowns, checkboxes, radio buttons, multiselects, or comboboxes. Custom fields and post meta support these input types. A jQuery range slider handles numeric ranges, date pickers narrow results by date, and selects or multiselects can use auto-complete comboboxes.

Order and update results

The Order Results field lets visitors sort by meta value, post ID, author, title, name, date, modified date, parent ID, random order, comment count, or menu order. With AJAX results, filtered content can update without a full page reload. Custom templates control how results are presented.

Create and place forms

Create as many fields and search forms as needed, then organize the fields in the drag-and-drop editor. Add forms to themes and posts with shortcodes or widgets. Review and news sites can filter by category, tag, author, or post type; shops can use product-oriented fields and sortable results.

The Pro edition is tested and compatible with WooCommerce, WP eCommerce, and Easy Digital Downloads. It also works with WPML and Advanced Custom Fields, supporting multilingual websites and content built with custom fields.

Set up a search form

Install Search & Filter Pro in WordPress and create a form in the drag-and-drop editor. Select the needed fields and input types, configure result ordering, and apply a custom template if required. Place the form in a theme or post using a shortcode or widget. The add-on provides an admin interface integrated with WordPress, and its documentation includes configuration examples and screenshots.
