Swift Performance Pro is the paid edition of Swift Performance, a WordPress caching and performance add-on. It combines cache and asset controls with tools for picture optimization, scheduled maintenance, WooCommerce, and extension administration.
Cache requests and prepare assets
The cache supports pages, AJAX requests, and dynamic pages, with exceptions based on URLs, pages, or content rules. Compatibility is listed for WooCommerce, bbPress, Cloudflare, and Varnish.
CSS and JavaScript tools can combine and minify documents, generate Critical CSS for each page, and move JavaScript to the footer. Async Execute runs script chunks as they download.
Process scripts and fonts
The Compute API is designed to speed up merging and reduce CPU usage. It also delivers advanced JavaScript minification for cases where default minification causes issues, plus a Critical Font option for reducing font icon file size.
Critical Icon Fonts lets you choose the icons used on the site and generate a customized icon font set. The plugin can search themes, plugins, posts, and options for used icons. After selecting the icons, enqueue them with one click; when critical icon fonts are enqueued, the plugin can block the original font CSS and files.
Optimize pictures and schedule database cleanup
The Pro Image Optimizer scans themes, extensions, and the uploads folder for images. Select images individually or run batch optimization. Set a default image quality in the plugin settings, then override it for selected images before optimization. The image optimizer is described as unlimited, with no additional fees.
The Database Optimizer cleans expired transients, orphaned and duplicated metadata, and spam comments. Pro adds scheduled optimization, so these tasks do not need to be started manually each time.
Configure WooCommerce and plugin loading
WooCommerce controls can disable cart fragment AJAX calls. Session cache can cache and preload dynamic pages such as the cart and checkout.
The Plugin Organizer can disable plugins on selected pages so they run only where needed. Rules can match URLs, frontend or admin pages, and AJAX actions, with exceptions.
Manage scheduled tasks and plugin settings
Remote Cron lets the plugin’s API server call wp-cron.php and run WordPress cron jobs as real cron jobs after remote cron is configured. Whitelabel settings can change the plugin name, description, author, and its database prefix.
Pro includes regular updates with new capabilities. Its Beta tester option provides updates more frequently when enabled; Lite updates are described as compatibility updates.
Install and configure
Install Swift Performance Pro through the WordPress plugins screen or upload its files to /wp-content/plugins/. Activate it in WordPress, then run the setup wizard to configure basic settings. Review caching, script and image optimization, database scheduling, WooCommerce options, and plugin rules before applying changes.
