Related Posts for WordPress Premium extends Related Posts for WordPress. Keep both add-ons installed and active. The base add-on requires WordPress 6.8 or newer and PHP 8.0 or newer.

Set up background matching

Open Settings > Related Posts, select how many related posts each post should have, then start the installer. It analyzes posts and creates links in the background while showing progress, so you can leave the settings page while it runs. The matcher compares each post’s 25 most telling words, weighing how often they appear in that post and how rare they are across the website. Title words, categories, tags, and posts linked from a post also inform the matches.

The plugin stores matching data and links in its own database tables. Displaying related posts reads the saved links instead of repeating the matching work on each user request.

Adjust and review recommendations

Premium lets you adjust matching weights and see why posts are related. It can also add new posts as recommendations for older posts right away or on a schedule. Editors can add, edit, or remove recommendations from a post’s editing screen. Links added by hand keep their place when recommendations are rebuilt and count toward the chosen number of related posts.

Choose a layout and display location

Use the configurator and custom CSS settings to shape the display, with templates that can be overwritten. Premium works with links across custom post types and custom taxonomies, as well as WordPress Network and Multisite setups.

Display related posts in a sidebar with the widget, place them in content with the [rp4wp] shortcode, or output them in a theme with rp4wp_children();. The shortcode accepts a limit and offset, such as [rp4wp limit=3 offset=3] to show the fourth through sixth posts. Set excerpt length to zero to conceal excerpts. Clear the CSS field in settings to disable the automatically output CSS. Premium includes priority email support.
