Weight Based Shipping for WooCommerce Pro
Weight Based Shipping for WooCommerce Pro calculates checkout shipping from prices and conditions you define. Use weight brackets or charge per unit of weight, then add rules for order value or destination. Rules can also add a flat amount, handling fee or surcharge. The method calculates from your table; it does not fetch live carrier rates or require a carrier account.
Set rates from a table you control
Weight Based Shipping for WooCommerce Pro calculates checkout shipping from prices and conditions you define. Use weight brackets or charge per unit of weight, then add rules for order value or destination. Rules can also add a flat amount, handling fee or surcharge. The method calculates from your table; it does not fetch live carrier rates or require a carrier account.
Choose what each rule measures
Set a price for each weight range, such as one rate up to 2 kg, another from 2 to 5 kg, and a third above 5 kg. You can also charge for each pound, kilogram or smaller weight increment, with an optional base amount. Order value and weight can work together in the same rule, and destinations can set different country rates. For postcode targeting, add the method to a WooCommerce shipping zone that covers the required postcodes.
Weight conditions use the combined weight of products in the cart, counting each product according to its quantity. Virtual products do not add weight, and a product without a weight counts as zero. Rules use the weight unit set in WooCommerce. A range includes its lower limit and excludes its upper limit, so ranges from 0 to 5 kg and 5 to 10 kg meet at 5 kg without overlap.
Matching rules add together, which lets a handling fee sit on top of a weight rate. Give alternative rules conditions that cannot both match. Order-value conditions apply discounts first and exclude tax by default. Turn on After taxes in the Value column to include tax in the comparison.
Apply Pro rules to products and shipping options
Pro shipping classes let you price product groups separately. Set a flat rate for one class, a per-kilogram rate for another, or a surcharge for products with different handling needs. Class and product rules can also control free shipping: offer it to selected products, exclude products from the offer or its threshold, or let a selected product make the whole order free.
- Stop ends rule evaluation at that rule, so the first match takes precedence.
- Drop removes entries already priced by a rule from later calculations.
- Deny withholds the method for orders that match a disqualifying rule.
- Require keeps the method unavailable unless all required rules match.
Pro can keep several tables in one shipping method. When separate tables price different parts of a cart, the customer sees one option priced as the sum of those parts. To show separate choices such as Standard and Express, add the method to a zone more than once and give each instance its own name, rules and prices. The method can also appear alongside other zone methods, such as flat rate or local pickup.
Pro includes undo and redo, and lets you copy a whole table or selected rules through the clipboard from a staging or local site to a live shop. Value thresholds can convert automatically with supported currency switchers. Direct email support is also included.
Set the store assumptions before entering rates
Add the method to a WooCommerce shipping zone and replace the starter table values with your own. Set the store's weight unit before entering rule values, because changing that unit later changes how those values are interpreted. Enter shipping prices without tax; WooCommerce applies shipping tax according to the store's tax settings. Rates are calculated server-side for the block cart and checkout, and the add-on declares compatibility with high-performance order storage.
