Optimole Pro for WordPress Media Libraries
Optimole Pro is the paid option for WordPress sites managing large media libraries. After you connect the add-on to the cloud service, it replaces image URLs with cloud-based ones and processes images for delivery. Original files remain on your server unless you enable Pro offloading.
How Optimole serves WordPress images
Optimole Pro is the paid option for WordPress sites managing large media libraries. After you connect the add-on to the cloud service, it replaces image URLs with cloud-based ones and processes images for delivery. Original files remain on your server unless you enable Pro offloading.
For each user, Optimole considers device type, screen size, browser, and connection speed when selecting image dimensions and compression. Machine-learning compression balances file size with visual detail. When a browser supports WebP or AVIF, Optimole can serve that format; otherwise, it delivers an optimized version in the original format. Media travels through AWS CloudFront, with edge locations in more than 450 cities.
Process a library or change where it is stored
Bulk optimization processes an existing media library with one click and continues in the background, so you do not need to keep the browser open. This can help websites with large collections of product photos, portfolio images, or other existing media.
If your originals need to stay on the WordPress server, standard image delivery uses them as its source. If you want to free server space and reduce server load, Pro offloading moves the media library to cloud storage. You can transfer offloaded images back to the server with one-click restoration. The cloud media library also provides digital asset management and can make assets available across multiple sites. Its media management supports images, video, audio, and documents.
Responsive delivery and loading
Optimole resizes images for visitor screens, including Retina and other high-DPR shows. Smart cropping can keep faces, products, or other important image subjects in view as dimensions change. Its jQuery-free lazy loading defers offscreen images, while adaptive placeholders reserve image space to help limit content shifting. Customizable placeholder colors can match a site's branding.
Watermarking is also available for protecting visual content. You can configure its position and opacity, then have it applied automatically to future uploads.
Setup and Pro options
Install Optimole on your WordPress site, connect it to the cloud service, and let it replace image URLs with optimized versions. You can then process existing media in bulk. Pro adds cloud offloading, one-click restoration, priority support, and a custom CNAME for image URLs that reflect your brand while media is delivered through the service.
Photographers, agencies, businesses, WooCommerce stores with product galleries, and portfolios can use the service to manage and deliver substantial volumes of visual media. Image processing takes place in the cloud, keeping that work away from WordPress hosting resources.
