Media, subtitles, and player layout
Supported media formats include MP4, M4A, OGG, WebM, MP3, and WAV. Players also support WebSRT subtitles and media downloads. Browser format support varies, so an audio item can include multiple formats for browsers to use a compatible file.
Based on MediaElement.js, the player supports browsers that implement HTML5, including Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera, Brave, and Internet Explorer. It also supports mobile devices such as iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. Choose from several skins and set the player width as a percentage, such as 100%, to adapt it to different screen sizes.
Playlist sources and player placement
Add and label media entries individually, or associate a directory to build a playlist from its media files. Directory playlists update as files are added or removed. Enter / to load files from the Uploads directory and its subdirectories.
Create players through the WordPress editor or enter player and item shortcodes in page content. Place them in posts, pages, or template files. The add-on integrates with Gutenberg, the Classic WordPress Editor, and Elementor; in other editors, add shortcodes to a general-purpose text or HTML block or module.
Pro file sales and audio protection
The Pro version can sell files from the player through PayPal and includes sales reports for reviewing related activity. Its payments are described as SCA ready and compatible with payment services under the PSD2 directive.
Audio protection requires FFmpeg to be installed on the server. With that dependency in place, the plugin can embed a watermark audio layer and generate truncated file copies for demos.
Getting started
- Install and activate the plugin in WordPress.
- Prepare supported audio or video files and any WebSRT subtitles.
- Create a player, choose a skin and width, then add media items or associate a directory for a playlist.
- Insert the player in a page, post, template, or supported editor area and publish it.
- For file sales, configure PayPal. For audio protection, install FFmpeg on the server before setting up those options.
