Simple Banner Pro for site announcements

Simple Banner Pro adds short announcements and notifications to the top or bottom of a site. Settings control the banner’s text, link, and background colors, and a preview lets you review changes before saving.

Banner setup and design

Use the standard color controls to set the banner’s appearance. For further adjustments, add custom CSS. Position and the Prepend element setting can also affect how the banner sits alongside a theme header.

With an absolutely positioned header, changing the banner position or Prepend element setting may help if the banner appears behind or over the header. Divi visitors may need to try header as the Prepend element value, or use relative positioning and website custom CSS.

Using multiple banners

The Pro features support up to five separate banners. Show them at the same time when several messages need to be visible, or display them consecutively to plan notices for various weeks. This can suit rotating notices, campaigns, event reminders, and website updates.

What the close button remembers

When the close button is enabled, a cookie remembers the visitor’s closed-banner state. The product information describes this as a strictly necessary cookie. If the visitor’s browser disables cookies, the close-button expiration setting will not work, and the banner will return on each refresh.

The banner configuration controls the close-button expiration. To display a closed banner again, clear the relevant browser cookie or set the expiration to blank, zero, or a date in the past. A page refresh may be needed.

Install and check the banner

1. Install Simple Banner Pro and open its settings.
2. Set the announcement text and colors, then review the preview.
3. Save the settings and check the banner on the public site.
