Connect WooCommerce checkout to Authorize.net

Secure Gateway for Authorize.net and WooCommerce by Pledged Plugins Enterprise connects a store to an Authorize.net merchant account for credit card payments. Gateway settings and order actions are managed in WordPress, with additional settings for recurring products, pre-orders, saved cards, ACH and supported upsell workflows.

An active Authorize.net account, WooCommerce 3.3 or later, and a valid SSL certificate are required.

How payment data and orders are handled

When a customer pays by card, the gateway uses Accept.js to send payment data directly to Authorize.net. This helps reduce PCI scope. The add-on does not store customer credit card numbers or sensitive information on the site.

• Process full or partial refunds from the WordPress dashboard without looking up the order in the merchant account.
• Authorize a transaction first and capture it later.
• Restrict selected card types. The gateway can hide the related card icon and show an appropriate checkout error.
• Optionally send receipts from the Authorize.net merchant account.
• Enable logging to help investigate gateway issues.

Recurring orders, pre-orders and saved payment methods

For recurring products, use the gateway with the WooCommerce Subscriptions extension to create and manage products with recurring payments. With the WooCommerce Pre-Orders extension, clients can order products before they are available, and their card details can be charged automatically when a pre-order becomes available.

Customers can choose saved cards for a faster checkout. The stored card details are held on the gateway servers; sensitive card data is not stored on the website. The Enterprise edition also works with eCheck payments through the ACH network.

Checkout upsells

The gateway is compatible with FunnelKit, formerly WooFunnels, One Click Upsells. Stores using post-purchase or checkout upsell steps can include those workflows with their payment setup.

Setup and testing

Install the extension, connect the merchant account and complete the available gateway fields in WooCommerce. Then choose the payment and order options the store needs, such as card restrictions, receipts, delayed capture, saved cards or ACH. An Authorize.net sandbox account can be used for testing.

A valid SSL certificate is required for customer card details and PCI DSS compliance.
