Live News Pro displays current information in fixed tickers on a WordPress site. Use its Featured News and Sliding News sections for headlines, financial updates, weather warnings, election or sports results, and other announcements.

Where should ticker content come from?

Enter configured news or generate entries automatically from WordPress posts or a specified RSS feed. A feed can come from your site or from a television or radio channel. Set the speed and delay of Sliding News to control how quickly items move and how long visitors have to read them.

How should each ticker look and behave?

Customize colors and typography throughout the ticker. You can replace the pictures used for the open and close buttons and the clock background. Add links to news items and choose whether they open in the same tab or a new tab. Small images can appear before or after sliding news text, for provider logos, financial trends, or communication categories. An optional clock works with a custom time format.

Where should the ticker appear?

Apply a ticker across the site or assign it to specific URLs. You can create separate tickers for various URLs. Device detection lets you show or conceal the ticker, or selected elements, based on visitor device type. RTL layouts are supported.

How are news updates and queries managed?

The ticker requests news updates through AJAX at the end of each news cycle. Use Cached Cycled to set how many cycles occur per request. You can also store ticker data in a WordPress transient to limit the queries used to retrieve news. Live News Pro can also run locally in a browser-based digital signage system.

How do you set up a ticker?

After installing Live News Pro in WordPress, create a ticker and choose posts, a specified RSS feed, or configured content as its source. Set the Featured News and Sliding News settings, then adjust speed, delay, styling, and placement. Configure links, the clock, device rules, caching, and RTL presentation as needed, then assign the ticker site-wide or to selected URLs.
