WP REST Cache Pro: Configure Custom REST Caching Without Code
WP REST Cache Pro is the paid edition of WP REST Cache. It caches WordPress REST API responses from default GET endpoints so repeated requests can be served from cache, helping speed up REST API use.

Endpoint coverage and relationships
The add-on caches default REST API GET endpoints, including endpoints for custom post types and taxonomies. Those endpoints need configuration when they use a custom WP_REST_Controller. Pro lets you select custom endpoints for caching and define their content relationships through wp-admin, without coding. You can also register custom endpoints with the wp_rest_cache/allowed_endpoints hook.
When a page or post is edited, the add-on flushes cache related to that content. For configured custom endpoints, it tries to determine which content the response relates to and flushes caches for relationships it identifies when related content changes. Detection can miss relationships, so configure each endpoint to reflect the content used in its response.
Cache controls
Set how long cached responses remain valid, enable automatic cache regeneration, and view how many times a cache has been retrieved. You can flush all caches manually or clear specific caches. The default cache timeout is one year and can be changed under Settings > WP REST Cache.
Installation and setup
Install WP REST Cache from Plugins > Add New by searching for “WP REST Cache,” or upload the wp-rest-cache folder to /wp-content/extensions/, then activate it. After activation, check the Must-Use Plugins area. If the WP REST Cache must-use add-on is missing, copy wp-rest-cache.php from the plugin’s /sources folder to /wp-content/mu-plugins/. Then adjust the cache timeout and configure any custom endpoints and their relationships through wp-admin.
