Bring site updates and RSS headlines together

Vertical News Scroller Pro displays announcements, events, headlines, and other updates in a sidebar, footer, homepage section, or another page area. Add news entries from the administration screen, or connect an RSS feed to bring in headlines from another site and mix them with your own. Imported headlines are sorted by date.

The Pro edition adds unlimited news categories, so you can group updates by subject and make separate displays for streams such as company news and events.

Choose how the news moves and fits

Use a smooth jQuery slide-up scroller or a continuous marquee-style scroll. The lightweight v3 engine is the default and is intended to scroll reliably across most themes. Earlier v1 and v2 engines remain available for backward compatibility. Set the speed, direction, height, width, and padding, then choose whether to display full news content or titles only.

Each news item can link to any URL and open in the same tab or a new one. Add the show through the native Gutenberg block, classic widget, or shortcode, without coding.

Apply Pro styling and previews

• Add a thumbnail image to each news item.
• Choose one of four visual presets: Default, Card, Minimal, or Headline.
• Use a lightbox preview so readers can preview a headline without leaving the page.
• Label items as News, Event, Announcement, or Notice, with customizable text.
• Adjust title and content colors and font sizes.

A separate news list shortcode makes a static list without scrolling, which can be used for archives and footer areas.

Manage items and access

Set the order of news items manually or reorder several at once. An existing post or page can be turned into a news item with one checkbox. Role and capability support accommodates multi-author sites, and the Pro edition is multisite compatible.

Add the scroller to a WordPress site

Install and activate the extension, then add news items and any needed categories, RSS feeds, thumbnails, labels, or ordering. Choose the Gutenberg block, widget, or shortcode for the page area where the scroller should appear, and configure its movement, dimensions, content display, links, and visual settings.
