SureCookie Pro: WordPress Cookie Scanning and Consent Controls
SureCookie Pro brings cookie discovery, visitor choices, script blocking, consent records, and policy support into a WordPress process. Scan selected pages in a browser, review detected cookies and third-party resources, group them into consent categories, and block non-essential scripts before consent. Consent logs are stored in the WordPress database.
How cookie consent works in SureCookie
SureCookie Pro brings cookie discovery, visitor choices, script blocking, consent records, and policy support into a WordPress process. Scan selected pages in a browser, review detected cookies and third-party resources, group them into consent categories, and block non-essential scripts before consent. Consent logs are stored in the WordPress database.
Visitors can accept all cookies, decline non-essential cookies, or pick categories in a customizable banner and preference modal. Configure the message, rich text, button labels and order, position, width, logo, animation, overlay, category labels and descriptions, and custom CSS. Script blocking can cover embedded content such as iframes, embeds, and objects before the relevant consent is given.
What Pro adds to scanning
Schedule weekly scans of selected pages through the browser-based scanning service. Automatic scans use the same scanner as manual scans, respect the configured scan scope, and record history through WP-Cron. The history can display new or removed cookies, recategorized cookies, newly detected third-party domains, whether each scan was manual or automatic, the last scan date, and the cookie count. Email digests deliver scan information to help review changes.
- Auto-apply behavior: automated handling within the supported consent workflow.
- Compliance guard workflows: controls for managing consent-related configuration.
- Geographic targeting: apply CCPA-style opt-out rules by region.
- Consent forwarding: pass consent information through the supported SureCookie workflow.
Review detected resources and options
Because scanning runs in a real browser environment, it can identify cookies and resources that appear after page load or through tag managers and third-party scripts. Detected items may include analytics, marketing, advertising, functional, preference, WooCommerce, and WordPress session cookies, along with third-party domains and dynamically injected resources.
Manage settings, categories, custom cookies, scan history, scanner credentials, consent logs, and related configuration in the WordPress database. From the WordPress admin, view, export, or delete consent logs and scan results. SureCookie also works with cookie and privacy policy workflows, including a privacy policy draft whose cookie and consent sections stay connected to configured settings.
The plugin supports WPML and Polylang for banner and admin text, RTL frontend cookie policy content, and selected WordPress management integrations when supported. The supplied product information states that charges are not based on traffic or monthly users.
Installation and configuration
Install and activate SureCookie in WordPress, configure the banner and preference modal, define cookie categories, and select pages to scan. Enable script blocking, review detected resources, and configure consent logging. Then set the Pro options you need, such as automatic scans, email digests, geographic targeting, compliance workflows, or consent forwarding.
SureCookie provides tools for scanning, blocking, collecting consent, logging, and policy management. Legal requirements depend on the site, visitors, region, policies, data practices, and applicable obligations; the extension does not guarantee legal compliance.
