NinjaScanner Premium Edition is a lightweight WordPress virus and malware scanner for reviewing files, database changes, and possible security issues. Scans run in the background, so work on the website can continue and administrators can log out while a scan is in progress.

Check file integrity and malware signatures

• File Integrity Checker: Compare WordPress core, extension, and theme files with their original packages. Premium themes and add-ons can also be added to the checker.
• File Comparison Viewer: Review differences between an original file and a modified file.
• Anti-malware signatures: Check for potential malware and viruses with built-in signatures. The engine is compatible with Linux Malware Detect (LMD) signatures and some ClamAV signatures. Custom signatures can be written.

When the integrity process identifies an infected or corrupted file, it can be restored with one click. Exclusion filters, algorithm selection, an ignored files list, a debugging log, and contextual help support more controlled investigations.

Review changes between scans

File Snapshots show which files were changed, added, or deleted since the previous scan. Database Snapshots compare published posts and pages with the previous scan to identify additions, changes, or deletions.

Schedule scans and manage them with WP-CLI

Premium scheduling works with hourly, twice-daily, or daily scans. Reports can be sent to one or more email addresses. Premium also includes a dedicated help desk with priority support. WP-CLI integration lets administrators use the ninjascanner command from a terminal to start or stop a scan and view its status, report, or log without opening the WordPress administration dashboard.

Use quarantine safeguards and integrations

When moving a file to the quarantine folder, the sandbox tests whether the action could cause a fatal error. If it could crash the blog, the scanner warns the administrator instead of quarantining the file. NinjaScanner can also integrate into the menu of NinjaFirewall WP or WP+ Edition. Multi-site support is included.

Store scan data on disk

The scanner uses the database only for configuration, described as less than 1Kb. Scan data, reports, and logs are stored on disk. Caching helps reduce bandwidth and server resources, and a Garbage Collector cleans the cache regularly.

Install and configure

Add NinjaScanner Premium Edition to WordPress and activate it. Use the scanning options to configure exclusions, algorithms, logs, email reports, quarantine behavior, and scheduled scans. To manage scans from a terminal, configure the Premium WP-CLI integration and use the ninjascanner command.
