Move or recover a WordPress website
Create a backup and monitor its progress, then download it or import a backup file through the wizard. Select an available backup to restore it. JetBackup supports migration across domains and hosting environments, with serialized data refactoring for migration. Server-level integration can restore backups created by your hosting provider.
For WordPress Multisite, selective subsite restore lets you restore a chosen subsite. Backups can also be exported to cPanel and DirectAdmin hosting control panels.
Choose a remote backup destination
Premium supports off-site destinations including Amazon S3 and compatible services, FTP, SFTP, Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Box, and pCloud. Remote storage keeps backup files in a destination separate from the WordPress server.
Set schedules and retention
Set the frequency and time for scheduled backups. Multiple scheduled profiles let you execute database and file backups at different frequencies, while retention options specify how many backups to keep on the server.
- Run backups manually or on a schedule.
- Choose the files, folders, and database content to include.
- View live progress during backup and restore operations, and cancel a backup before it finishes.
- Review backup and restore logs, download backup files, or delete stored backups.
- Run backups in background mode at low priority.
- Receive email notifications when a backup succeeds or fails.
Requirements and support
JetBackup requires WordPress 6.0 or higher and PHP 7.4 or higher with zlib and cURL. A Linux-based server is recommended for optimal performance. Windows is supported, though known PHP issues may cause limitations.
JetBackup Premium includes 24/7 premium support with a stated 15-minute service-level target.
