What a database preview shows

Choose the search and replacement values and the tables or content areas to target. Enable Dry Run and generate a report to see the rows and data that would change. Review the report, close it, then disable Dry Run and click Find & Replace to apply the replacement. Database changes cannot be undone unless the Pro undo feature was installed before the replacement, so check the report before proceeding.

Replace media and review website issues

Media tools support drag-and-drop image replacement, thumbnail regeneration, and updates or additions to alt text, captions, and metadata. AI suggestions can propose replacement text and media improvements. Safe Media Replacement keeps the original file until the new upload commits and restores it if the replacement fails. Missing Media Detection finds content that points to files no longer on the server and lets you replace them.

The Site Health Dashboard shows an overall score, issue count, and activity log. The link checker scans internal links in posts, pages, and public custom post types, with details about where each link appears, its text, and how often it is used. Pro maintenance tools add external link, image, and embed checks, scheduled and background scans, failures grouped by cause, and bulk fixes across occurrences.

Manage redirects and 404s

• Create and manage 301 redirects, with switches and hit counts. Pro includes 302 and 307 redirects, regex and prefix matching, and automatic redirects when a slug changes.
• Detect redirect chains and loops, including self-redirects. Import and export redirects, then review redirect analytics.
• Optionally log 404 hits with referrers and hit counts while filtering bot traffic. Turn a logged 404 into a redirect or find where the missing URL is still linked.
• Use Replace + Redirect to preview a URL change across content and create its matching redirect in the same step.

Review AI edits and maintenance work

Safe Revision presents an AI suggestion as a full diff for selective approval, merging, publishing, or rollback. AI Content Refresher scans posts for outdated years, software versions, prices, and dead references. Review suggested rewrites before applying them as reversible revisions. Maintenance Agent groups related problems, ranks them, prepares a plan for approval, runs the approved batch, and reports what changed.

Clone content and add code snippets

Duplicate or clone posts, pages, and public custom post types as drafts. Bulk cloning works with metadata selection and is WooCommerce-aware and page-builder-aware. Code Inserts adds HTML, CSS, or JavaScript snippets to the header, start of the body, or footer without editing the theme. PHP is not executed. Long scans can run through Action Scheduler or WP-Cron so they do not hold up administration screens.

Installation and first use

Install and activate Better Find And Replace Pro in WordPress, open its options, and select a task. Enter the search and replacement values, select the relevant tables or content areas, and run a dry report. Review the affected rows and data before disabling Dry Run and applying the change. Configure maintenance scans, redirects, media actions, and AI-assisted workflows in their corresponding settings areas.
