Build search forms in the block editor

The Keyword Search Block searches post content. Taxonomy Search Blocks filter by categories, tags and custom taxonomies, using the classifications configured on your site.
Choose filters and result order
The Pro edition includes a Post Date Search Block and Search Result Single Order, which sets the order of individual results. Custom Field Search adds another way to filter content stored in custom fields; this feature is marked beta.
Taxonomy selections can use checkboxes or radio buttons. With checkboxes, AND logic requires results to match every selected term, while OR logic matches any selected term. Taxonomy blocks can also show post counts and terms with no postings.
Set labels and block widths
Adjust block widths for each screen size, and edit the labels for search entries and the search button. You can use multiple search items, with one label for each entry.
Add and review the form
After installing and activating the plugin, open the editor for the page or archive where the form should appear and add the relevant Filter Search blocks. Set the target post type and configure the filters, labels, button text and widths. Then review the form and results with your active theme. Theme CSS can affect the controls' appearance, and the theme determines the search results page layout.
