Embed prepared publications in WordPress

FlippingBook Business provides access to the FlippingBook WordPress Plugin, which places interactive HTML5 flipbooks made with FlippingBook Online or FlippingBook Publisher in WordPress posts and pages. It suits digital magazines, brochures, catalogs, and other PDF-based documents. Create and personalize the flipbook in FlippingBook Online or FlippingBook Publisher first; the extension does not convert a PDF or embed a PDF directly in WordPress.

From a sharing link to an oEmbed

1. Upload and customize a PDF in FlippingBook Online or FlippingBook Publisher to create a flipbook.
2. Copy the finished flipbook's sharing link.
3. In the WordPress admin area, install and activate the FlippingBook Plugin.
4. Paste the sharing link into the body of a post or page. WordPress converts it to a FlippingBook oEmbed automatically.

Set responsive sizing and ratios

Use the plugin's admin page to adjust oEmbed settings. When responsive show is enabled, an embed fills the available container width and keeps the ratio specified in the oEmbed ratio field. This setting applies to new oEmbeds. Clear the oEmbed cache to apply it to existing FlippingBook oEmbeds.

For more control, the [flippingbook] shortcode supports width, height, ratio, page, and mode settings. Set the height to auto when specifying a ratio so the height adjusts to match it. The mode can display a link instead of a full embed. With the lightbox option, embedded links or clickable covers open in a lightbox by default; setting it to false opens the flipbook in a new tab.

Additional attributes can enable mouse-wheel page turning, make the embed background transparent, conceal the FlippingBook logo, set a navigation color, or adjust book size. Mouse-wheel control may disrupt page scrolling while the pointer is over the embed. The logo, navigation-color, and book-size options apply when transparent="true".

To get an embed code, pick Embed > Embed into WordPress in FlippingBook Online. In FlippingBook Publisher, choose Publication > Get Embed Code > WordPress when hosting on the cloud. You can also create a shortcode yourself and set its supported attributes.

Use a configured Custom Domain

FlippingBook Online customers who have set up a Custom Domain can enter that domain in the corresponding plugin field. This enables oEmbed and shortcode support for the custom domain.

Plan and account requirements

The plugin is available starting with the Business plan. You need a FlippingBook Online or FlippingBook Publisher account and a prepared flipbook before embedding a publication in WordPress.
