Image optimization for WordPress sites

WPvivid Image Optimization Pro optimizes and resizes images, and includes lazy loading to delay picture loading until images are needed. This can reduce initial page load work. The extension works with leading page builders and eCommerce add-ons such as WooCommerce, for content websites, online stores and websites with larger media libraries.

The Pro edition removes daily and monthly optimization limits for each domain. It includes controls for compression, formats, uploads, folders and scheduled processing.

Choose compression and format

Lossy compression reduces image size with some loss of image data, while lossless compression preserves the original image data. Pro also provides custom compression levels so you can set image quality and size options for your workflow. It works with optimization for JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF files, and can convert images to WebP when that format suits the site.

Handle new uploads and existing images

Single image uploads of up to 32 MB can be processed. New uploads can be optimized automatically, or you can select images for manual optimization and resizing. Existing images can be optimized or resized in bulk, which can help bring a media library into a more consistent size range.

Target processing and set a schedule

Bulk processing handles a library in one action; individual image selection gives you more targeted control. Pro can process images in custom folders and lets you exclude specified folders or files. Scheduled optimization runs bulk processing according to the schedule configured for the website.

Original image backup and restore utilities let you back up original files and restore them later. These settings are available when changing compression, resizing or format settings for existing media. White-label controls are also included.

Loading and delivery options

Lazy loading delays image loading until images are needed. CDN integration supports image delivery through a content delivery network. The plugin uses a specialized cloud server API for image processing; a faster API option and improved algorithms are described for Pro.

Installation requirements

Install WPvivid Image Optimization Pro on a WordPress website. The listed minimum requirements are WordPress 5.1, PHP 5.3, MySQL 4.1 and UTF-8 character encoding. After activation, configure optimization, resizing, backup, lazy-loading and processing settings in the plugin interface.
