WP Remove Query Strings From Static Resources Pro combines automatic query-string removal for local CSS and JavaScript URLs with settings for broader site optimization. The URL cleanup helps proxy servers and CDNs cache static documents, while Pro adds controls for caching, code delivery, media, database maintenance, site health, and WooCommerce.

Local resource URL behavior

WordPress may add version parameters to CSS and JavaScript URLs. After activation, the plugin removes all query-string parameters, including ?ver=, ?v=, and ?timestamp=, from local URLs ending in .css or .js. It ignores external resources and leaves the WordPress admin dashboard unaffected. The file-extension check also avoids targeting dynamic scripts with other endings. Version parameters can help with cache busting during development, so removing them changes how those URLs identify updated files.

Pro caching and delivery controls

The Pro settings include browser caching with customizable durations, GZIP compression, Cache-Control headers, Keep-Alive, and ETag removal. DNS Prefetch and Preload Links provide further resource-delivery controls. The same settings area includes minification for CSS, JavaScript, and HTML, plus an option to delay JavaScript.

Media, maintenance, and store utilities

• Lazy loading for images and iFrames, with Google Fonts optimization.
• Database cleanup, Heartbeat Control, and XML-RPC Disable.
• Built-in WooCommerce optimization for stores using WooCommerce.

A Pro settings admin page includes access to these controls. The Pro offer also includes premium support and updates, described as dedicated assistance and regular new features.

Activation and compatibility

Install and activate the add-on in WordPress. Query-string removal starts automatically; use the Pro settings page to review and configure the additional options. The product information describes the base plugin as compatible with all themes and extensions and the Pro edition as WooCommerce ready. Support is available through the WordPress plugin support forum.
