WooCommerce Autocomplete Orders Premium applies an order-completion mode you select, reducing the need to change eligible orders manually. It is intended for stores selling virtual goods, subscriptions, downloads, or physical products.
Choose an order-completion mode
- Paid orders of virtual products only: Complete orders containing only virtual products after successful payment.
- All paid orders of any product: Complete paid orders containing virtual or physical products after successful payment.
- All orders: Complete every order regardless of payment status. An order may be marked Completed before payment arrives, which can give the customer access to the product before it has been paid for.
The two paid-order modes rely on the payment gateway reporting that payment is complete. The gateway must call WooCommerce’s woocommerce_payment_complete() function or the order’s $order->payment_complete() method. PayPal, SagePay, and Stripe are among the major providers described as supported. If a gateway cannot recognize or report received payment through these methods, its orders will not be automatically completed in the paid-order modes.
Set payment-method rules
Premium adds options for Direct bank transfer, Check, and Cash on delivery payments. It also supports automatic completion for cash-on-delivery orders that contain downloadable products. These controls let you select completion behavior for those checkout methods alongside the rules for product type and payment status.
Configure the plugin
Install and activate the plugin in WordPress, then open WooCommerce > Settings > Autocomplete Orders. Choose the completion mode from the dropdown and configure the available payment-method settings for your shop.
For PayPal, open WooCommerce > Settings > Checkout > PayPal and check that the PayPal Email is the primary email on the PayPal account. Activate Payment Data Transfer in the seller preferences, then copy its identity token into the PayPal Identity Token setting.
If orders remain incomplete, check that the mode is not set to off and confirm that the payment gateway calls a WooCommerce payment-completion method when payment is received.
