Ultimate Cursor Pro is a separate add-on for Ultimate Cursor, a WordPress add-on for custom cursors and animated backgrounds. The base add-on includes Text, Image, Icon, Shape, and Animated cursors, 113 built-in icons, five geometric shapes, eight animated cursor effects, and the Antigravity and Light Pillar backgrounds. Base options apply one cursor and one background configuration across the site; Pro adds more ways to configure their behavior and placement.

When cursor behavior changes on hover

Interactive Hover makes the cursor respond over links, buttons, and form fields. It can grow, change color, glow, move toward the center of an element, or display a contextual label such as “Open,” “Play,” or “Type.” Pro also includes blend modes and custom CSS selectors for hover behavior.

When cursor settings vary by area

Pro supports multiple cursor configurations, with targeting by page, CSS selector, or HTML element. For example, you can use one cursor across the website and a different configuration for a portfolio area. The base plugin applies its single cursor configuration site-wide.

Pro expands the shape collection from five to 25 shapes. Circular Text turns a cursor label into a rotating badge. Image and icon hotspot settings let you choose which point follows the mouse, such as the tip of an arrow.

When an effect needs its own controls

Pro adds settings for each animated cursor effect. Depending on the effect, controls include trail or snowflake characters, size, particle count and speed, as well as color, radius, and force settings for Splash. Rainbow, Character, Click Spark, and Click Particles also have effect-specific options.

Antigravity and Light Pillar backgrounds are included in the base plugin. Pro adds Antigravity motion controls such as field strength, wave, pulse, and rotation, plus Light Pillar controls for intensity, glow, noise, mouse interaction, blend mode, and quality. You can adjust background position, stacking order, and opacity, target backgrounds by page or CSS selector, and execute multiple background configurations.

For touch devices and reduced-motion settings

The custom cursor is hidden on touch devices, while background effects remain responsive across screen sizes. Cursor and hover animations respect a visitor’s reduced-motion preference; background effect scripts are not downloaded for visitors with that preference. Background effects require a browser with WebGL.

Setup and compatibility

Install Ultimate Cursor, open its dashboard menu, choose a cursor type, adjust its settings in the live preview, and save. To add a background, open the Background tab, choose Antigravity or Light Pillar, and save. Configure Pro targeting and effect controls in the dashboard as needed.

The effects work with properly coded WordPress themes and pages built with Gutenberg, Elementor, WPBakery, and Divi. The cursor does not load inside page-builder editors or the Customizer preview.
