Turn dated announcements into a timeline

Timeline Express Pro presents WordPress announcement posts as an animated vertical timeline. Give each announcement a date to set its chronological position, then select ascending or descending order. Use timelines for company histories, product roadmaps or release cycles, event records, customer histories, personal achievements, police or fire histories, and other date-based content.

Add [timeline-express] to a page or post to show a timeline on your site. The responsive layout works on mobile devices, adjusts to announcement content, and uses CSS3 animation effects.

Separate collections on one site

When a site tracks various projects, departments, or histories, create multiple timelines and assign announcements to one timeline or to all available timelines. Categories provide another way to group entries. Visitors can filter announcements by category on the front end, and sorting can use a category, a timeline, or both.

Choose what each announcement shows

Add a custom picture and select an icon for each announcement from the included collection of hundreds of Font Awesome icons. Set the excerpt length, conceal dates, or remove the read more link. For pages with many entries, the Pro layout reduces the distance between announcements to keep the timeline more compact.

The plugin is translation-ready and works with localized date formatting. The source states compatibility with WPML and Polylang. Documentation and code snippets cover further customization of announcement containers and single announcement templates.

Set up and publish

1. Install Timeline Express Pro.
2. Create announcement posts and assign dates.
3. Create one or more timelines and assign announcements to them.
4. Configure categories, sorting, layout, excerpt length, date and link display, images, and icons.
5. Add [timeline-express] to the page or post where the timeline should appear.
