YITH Pre-Order for WooCommerce Premium lets a shop accept orders for products before release or while they are temporarily unavailable. Customers use a pre-order button and can see an availability date. The shop chooses which products are offered and sets the order terms.

Choose products and set availability

Enable pre-order mode for selected products or automatically for unavailable and out-of-stock products. An out-of-stock product needs a stock quantity set to be purchasable as a pre-order. For variable products, pre-order status can be set separately for each variation.

Set a release date and time, then select whether pre-order mode ends manually or automatically when the product becomes available. You can set a fixed pre-order price, apply a discount, or increase the price. The purchase button label is customizable; in the Frequently Bought Together section, its label and colors can also be changed.

Set access, fees, and shipping

Premium can hide pre-order prices from unregistered visitors and limit pre-orders to selected customers or roles. You can add an extra fee to orders containing a pre-order product and offer free shipping for products purchased in pre-order mode.

Choose when customers pay

The standard pre-order flow charges the product price when the customer places the order. Premium also includes a Pay Later option at checkout, so customers can pay manually when the product becomes available. Alternatively, the product price can be charged automatically to the customer's credit card upon release when you use a supported payment gateway.

Send updates during the pre-order

Administrators can receive an email when a customer places a pre-order, plus notifications when pre-order mode is enabled for an unavailable product and when a release date is approaching. Customers can receive an order confirmation, a notice when the release date changes, and reminders about pending payment.

Configure the pre-order process

1. Activate WooCommerce, then install and activate YITH Pre-Order for WooCommerce Premium.
2. Select products for pre-order mode, or enable it automatically for unavailable and out-of-stock products.
3. Set the release date and price or payment behavior.
4. Choose whether pre-order access is limited to particular users or roles.
5. Configure any extra fee, free-shipping rule, and customer payment option.
6. Review administrator and customer notifications before opening pre-orders.
