How should the starting number account for order history?
Choose a starting number higher than the most current order number. Existing orders inform the numbering logic, so review the order history before setting the starting point.
Test orders count toward the sequence. If they should not affect a sequence intended to begin at a particular number, move them to the trash and permanently delete them. Trashed orders continue to count in case they are restored.
What text can appear around each number?
Add a prefix before the sequential number, a suffix after it, or both. For example, a store could use formats such as WT101UK and WT102UK.
Which number should connected extensions use?
Developers and connected extensions should use the WooCommerce order number when storing or displaying order data. An extension can filter the order number; the order ID remains the post ID.
What is needed for setup?
The site must use WooCommerce 3.9.4 or newer. Install and activate Sequential Order Numbers Pro for WooCommerce, then set the starting number and any prefix or suffix. Review existing orders before choosing the starting point. After saving the format, place or review an order to confirm that its number follows the intended sequence and format.
