Search in Place Pro: Live Search for Custom WordPress Content
Search in Place Pro turns existing WordPress search boxes into dynamic search fields. AJAX updates the results as visitors type, so they can adjust a query without reloading the site.

Choose what searches can match
Use the options to include custom post types and taxonomies. Pro can also search metadata and the author display name associated with posts, pages, or custom post types. Integrations for WooCommerce, WP e-Commerce, Jigoshop, and Ready! Ecommerce Shopping Cart can add the post types and taxonomies used by those add-ons.
Set matching and result details
Choose whether results must match all entered terms (AND) or can match any term (OR). Set the minimum number of characters that starts a search and the maximum number of dynamic results. Titles always appear; featured pictures, authors, publication dates, and summaries are optional. You can set the date format and summary length as well.
Dynamic results can be grouped and labeled by post type. Search terms can be highlighted in the results and on resulting pages. Results open in a popup by default, or can appear in a div within page content. Search results pages can also show labels. The add-on offers color controls for the search box and a different navigation option for website search.
Add a search field
The plugin converts existing site search boxes. Add another with [search-in-place-form]. To limit the search to the page containing the field, use [search-in-place-form in_current_page="1"]. Integrations are available for Gutenberg and Elementor, along with a widget for Page Builder by SiteOrigin.
Configure included content, matching, minimum query length, result count, and display settings in the plugin settings.
