Choose recipients and compose messages

Send Users Email Pro includes the base email tools and adds capabilities for planned and larger campaigns. Send a message to selected WordPress customers, one or more user roles, a custom group, an external contact list, or a single external email address. Groups are independent of WordPress roles, and you can import external contacts in bulk from a CSV file. Administrators can also choose which other roles may send messages through the plugin.

Compose messages in the WordPress rich text editor and preview them with personalization placeholders filled in. Placeholders can insert a recipient’s username, first name, last name, show name, user ID, or email address. Pro makes those placeholders available in subject lines as well as message bodies.

Queue or schedule delivery

The queue uses WP-Cron to send a configurable number of emails every five minutes. You can make the queue the default for sends or schedule queued messages for a specific future date and time. Gradual sending helps pace a batch within your provider’s limits; actual delivery still depends on your hosting and email provider.

Queue activity charts and a separate 30-day queue email log help you review processing. Older queue records are cleaned up automatically.

Style reusable email layouts

Choose from more than 15 pre-designed email themes, including plain text and dark mode styles, or upload your own HTML and CSS template. Set a theme or custom template as the default for new messages. You can also save a subject and message as a reusable template.

The email header can include a logo, title, and tagline, with per-email title and tagline overrides for individual campaigns. Add social links to the footer or use custom CSS to restyle the default responsive template.

Configure sending and review records

Set the sender name, sender email, and reply-to address. Pro also lets you configure your own or a third-party SMTP server. The plugin sends through WordPress’s wp_mail function and works alongside other email plugins that hook into it.

Users can opt in or out of emails from their profiles, and you can override a user's preference for a specific send. Pro keeps sent-email logs for 90 days by default, with retention configurable. The base plugin keeps these logs for 15 days. The base tools also log failures returned by wp_mail for review in the WordPress administration area.

Prepare a campaign

Configure sender details, branding, styling, and SMTP options, then create groups or import external contacts. Choose recipients, write and preview the message, and select queueing or scheduling when needed. Review the available email and queue logs after sending.
