Real-Time Find and Replace Pro applies rules to text and code from WordPress themes and add-ons as a page is generated, before the output reaches the visitor’s browser. The original theme and add-on files stay unchanged, so replacements are separate from those files during updates.

Set the match and scope

Use an exact match for fixed text, or regular expressions when the output follows a pattern. Pro adds filters for referrer, visitor agent, query string, and post type to narrow when a rule applies. Rules can also change WordPress admin pages, with per-rule control over admin use; the plugin’s own admin page is excluded.

Use rules for specific changes

• Translate selected text generated by another plugin.
• Change wording on a product or shopping cart page.
• Remove footer text supplied by a theme.
• Make selected on-page SEO adjustments.

These replacements affect generated output rather than the theme or plugin files.

Check regex rules carefully

An invalid regex rule can cause a blank page. Start with a simple pattern, confirm the replacement, then add complexity gradually so you can spot an error as you work.

Store and reuse options

Rules are stored as an array in the wp_options table, in one record regardless of how many rules you create. Pro includes settings export and import for moving or reusing a configuration. The documentation says performance impact generally should not be noticeable with fewer than 50 rules; a caching plugin can help when you use more.

Install and apply

Install and activate the plugin, then open Find and Replace from the Tools menu and add a rule. Choose exact matching or regex, configure the filters you need, save the settings, and check the generated page. Use the export and import controls when you need to reuse the configuration.
