Install and configure the add-on
Install Internal Linking of Related Contents and activate it. The add-on adds an admin page for managing related-content behavior, tracking options, and show controls. Set up the matching rules, exclusions, templates, images, and integrations for your content.
Choose how posts match
Automatic matching can use categories or post tags. Premium search options also support post titles and custom keywords. For context-aware recommendations, the AI-powered capability can use OpenAI or local Ollama models to select content by meaning and context.
Assign custom keywords to individual posts, or use bulk editing to add or remove keywords for selected posts. Choose which devices display related content, and exclude categories, post tags, or individual posts. The plugin also works with specific custom post types and WordPress pages. For pages, related content can link child pages or use custom keywords.
Set placement and presentation
Display related posts inline or group related articles at a specific location in your content. Choose the sort order for recommendations. Premium includes 12 additional templates for related-content sections.
Set a placeholder image for related posts without a featured image. For manually selected posts added through a shortcode, Gutenberg block, or Elementor widget, select a custom featured image. You can hide posts without featured images and set the width and height of displayed images. Remove the call-to-action text from related posts, or use AMP support for supported display needs.
Work in Gutenberg and Elementor
A Gutenberg block can display a selected related post using the plugin settings. You can also customize template and display options in the Gutenberg editor. Elementor widgets provide selected-post display and customization within Elementor.
Review link counts and clicks
Internal link count tracking shows how many related-content links the plugin generates across posts and pages. Counts update automatically, and tools are available to recalculate outdated values. Click statistics include filters, hourly charts, device data, and detailed click events for reviewing link activity.
