Choose popup content and opening behavior
The add-on includes picture, HTML, Facebook, and subscription popups. The PRO package adds iframe, video, and shortcode popups. The broader popup range also includes Web Push Notification, Exit Intent, Mailchimp, WooCommerce, login, countdown, social, gamification, and age restriction options. Shortcode popups can display shortcodes from other add-ons.
Open a popup on page load, after a delay, or when a visitor clicks or hovers over a link or page element. A floating button can also trigger one. Other controls let you display a popup once, disable it on mobile devices, prevent visitors from closing it, or play a sound when it opens. You can configure a redirect when a visitor clicks popup content.
Set display rules and design
Use conditions to target display by location or country, URL, browser, or operating system. Country filters let you allow or block selected locations. Popup dimensions can be made responsive with percentage-based width and height, plus maximum dimensions in pixels.
Customize backgrounds, borders, overlays, text, colors, and other popup components. Custom CSS and JavaScript provide additional options when the standard design controls do not cover a need.
You can place multiple popups on one page, with one set to open on page load and others assigned to click actions. The page or post editor includes a popup selection area for the page-load choice. To trigger a popup from a link, add the class sg-confirm-popup-#popupid, replacing the placeholder with the popup ID.
Connect other WordPress tools
Listed integrations include WooCommerce, Mailchimp, Contact Form 7, WPML, Polylang, Ninja Forms, Gravity Forms, TablePress, Formidable Forms, WP Google Maps, HTML5 Maps, Review Builder, and Divi Builder. These can support popup use for forms, lead generation, multilingual content, maps, reviews, and ecommerce messaging.
Install and upgrade
Install the extension through the WordPress plugin directory or upload its files, activate it from the Plugins menu, then open Popup Builder settings to select your options. Create a popup, choose its type, and configure its design, conditions, and events before assigning it to a page or post.
To set a popup to open automatically, edit the desired page or post, select it in the “Select popup on page load” area, and update the page. Only one popup can open on page load; other popups on that page can be set to open on click.
Before upgrading from the Free version, disable “Delete popup data” in Popup settings to preserve existing popup data. The product instructions say you do not need to remove the Free version manually before upgrading.
