Poll Maker Pro lets you build polls in WordPress, collect votes or feedback, and place questions where visitors can respond. Choose a response format, set the participation rules, then publish the poll in a post or page with its generated shortcode.

Match the poll format to the question

Choosing, rating, and voting are the three core formats. Choosing polls present answer settings. Rating polls accept stars or emojis, while voting polls can use like or dislike responses or emojis. Pro adds dropdown, range, versus, and text polls. A range poll accepts a value from 1 to 100; a versus poll compares two people or products; a text poll collects a short answer or paragraph. Pro can also let respondents add a custom answer to a choosing poll.

Build question content

Write and format poll questions in the WordPress classic editor. Questions can include images, video, or audio, and the question area can contain a shortcode from another plugin. If you work with code, you can use HTML or CSS to customize the question.

Set participation rules

Allow respondents to choose more than one answer with multivote. You can limit participation to logged-in users or selected WordPress visitor roles. To limit repeat voting, set the maximum attempts per user and choose a detection method: IP address, WordPress user ID, cookie, or cookie and IP address.

Pro also includes anonymous polls, which do not collect the WordPress user or user IP in the database, and password-protected polls for restricted participation. Enable email notifications to receive a message when a vote is submitted.

Style polls and review responses

Choose from seven ready-made themes, four of which are Pro-only, then adjust available style options such as colors, images, borders, and backgrounds. Poll Maker can display live results and provide response reports in the dashboard. Results can be displayed as bar, pie, or column charts; Pro also supports CSV export.

Publish a poll

1. Add a new poll and choose its type.
2. Enter the question and answers, then configure participation and design options.
3. Save the poll and copy its shortcode, such as [ays_poll id='your_poll_id'].
4. Insert the shortcode into a WordPress post or page and publish it. You can also place a poll in a sidebar widget.
