How Does Facturare PRO for WooCommerce Handle Billing Details?
Facturare PRO for WooCommerce extends the WooCommerce checkout with information that can be needed for invoicing in Romania. It is designed for stores that sell to both individuals and companies and need a clearer way to collect billing details during the order process.
Customer and company details at checkout
Facturare PRO for WooCommerce extends the WooCommerce checkout with information that can be needed for invoicing in Romania. It is designed for stores that sell to both individuals and companies and need a clearer way to collect billing details during the order process.
For individual customers, the checkout can include a CNP field. For legal entities, the module can provide fields for CUI, Commercial Registry number, bank name, and IBAN. These details are collected alongside the customer’s billing information, giving the store the data needed for its invoicing process.
Built for different buyer types
The PRO edition allows customers to view product prices including or excluding VAT. It also adapts tax handling according to the type of buyer and the applicable legislation. This can be useful in stores where the tax treatment differs between customer categories, including examples such as photovoltaic systems.
These settings help present pricing more clearly before the order is placed. A store can therefore structure its checkout around the information required from an individual or a business customer, while displaying the relevant price presentation for the shop’s sales process.
What the plugin does
Facturare PRO for WooCommerce includes billing-related fields to the checkout; it does not issue invoices itself. If you need automated invoices or pro forma documents through SmartBill, the supplied information points to SmartBill for WooCommerce as the separate solution for automating that part of the process.
The source information also identifies OpenAPI for WooCommerce for automating the retrieval of company information by CUI. This can complement a checkout process in which business customers provide their company identification details.
Order data for custom processes
For database use and custom development, the fields added by the plugin are stored in one row in the wp_postmeta table under the av_facturare key. The source also includes dedicated metadata keys that return the requested values for an order:
- _billing_facturare_cnp for CNP
- _billing_facturare_nr_reg_com for the Commercial Registry number
- _billing_facturare_cui for CUI
- _billing_facturare_nume_banca for bank name
- _billing_facturare_iban for IBAN
This structure can be useful when a developer needs to retrieve billing values from an order for a connected workflow or a custom implementation.
Typical store workflow
- Install and activate the Facturare PRO for WooCommerce module in the WordPress store.
- Present the relevant personal or company billing fields at checkout.
- Let customers provide CNP, CUI, registration, bank, or IBAN information as appropriate.
- Use the VAT display and buyer-based tax handling supported by the PRO edition.
- Retrieve the stored order values through the supplied metadata keys when required.
Installation and setup
After installing the module, configure the checkout fields and the store’s tax presentation for the customer types it serves. Test an order for an individual and one for a legal entity to confirm that the intended information is requested and saved. For invoice automation, review the separate SmartBill for WooCommerce workflow described in the product information.
