Free Downloads WooCommerce Pro lets visitors download eligible free digital products without completing checkout. Stores can use it for audio files, course documentation, themes, add-ons, and digital catalogues for physical products. Products can contain one or several files.

Set download access

Restrictions can be set by product, category, or tag. Variable and grouped products are supported. When a free product requires membership, only customers with the required membership can download it. The Pro edition works with WooCommerce Memberships and Subscriptions, and supports Paid Member Subscriptions by Cozmoslabs.

Choose file delivery

Visitors can be redirected to a page before downloading, or sent a download link by email. Layout settings help present products with multiple files. Download buttons and links automatically match the store theme; custom CSS and HTML classes are available for further styling.

The add-on supports PDFs and is compatible with the official WooCommerce PDF Watermark plugin in the Pro edition. WooCommerce Products List by NitroWeb is also among the integrations listed for Pro.

Manage limits and review downloads

Set limits on the number of free downloads a visitor can access by day, week, month, or year. Custom limits can be applied to users with WooCommerce Membership plans, specific user roles, and individual accounts.

Download tracking and reporting records the product, variation when applicable, date, user, email address, and IP address for each download. Logged-in clients can view their free download history on their WooCommerce account page.

Request an email from guests

For guest users, the plugin can request an email address before a download begins. The email-capture workflow can also subscribe visitors to a MailChimp newsletter.
