Customize the messages shown during validation so customers can see when a check is underway, whether the number is valid, or whether a technical issue prevented validation.
Configure VAT treatment and field visibility
Choose whether VAT is removed for valid numbers or kept, based on the tax and country rules you configure. Set where the VAT field appears by country and user role; for example, you can conceal it for sales within the store’s base country when VAT is always charged there.
- Allow checkout with local VAT numbers that cannot be validated because they are not part of VIES.
- Check whether the customer’s IP-based country matches the country in the VAT number.
- Compare the company name with the VAT number and show a custom message when they do not match.
Apply checkout controls
Show a specific payment method only after the customer includes a valid VAT number. The plugin also works with the block-based WooCommerce Checkout page.
Use VAT data on invoices
The VAT number can be added to PDF invoices when used with the PDF Invoice & Packing Slips add-on. Other invoice plugins can use the field ID _billing_eu_vat_number.
Configure and check the process
Set the field, validation, country, role, VAT-treatment, and payment-method options for your checkout process. Test the relevant country, customer role, VAT number, company name, and payment cases before using the workflow with customers.
