Embedder For Google Drive Premium for WordPress
Embedder For Google Drive lets authors select Drive items while editing WordPress posts and pages. Files can appear inline in Google’s read-only interactive viewer, link to an editable file that opens in the same or a new browser tab, or be offered as downloads where supported. Supported types include PDFs, Word files, ZIP files, videos, images, and native Google documents such as spreadsheets, drawings, and forms. Native Google formats can be linked or embedded, but direct downloads are unavailable for them.

Premium browsing, folders, and calendars
Premium’s Drive browser groups files under My Drive, Recent Files, Starred, and Shared With Me. Authors can view or search these categories while preparing content.
- Display a list of files from a Drive folder and keep the collection current by updating it in Drive.
- Select Google Calendars to embed them on the site or provide ICAL or XML download links.
- Premium includes support and updates for one year.
Enterprise for intranets and shared storage
Enterprise includes the basic and Premium capabilities. On a WordPress intranet, each page or post can have its own attachments backed by Drive, so the intranet and Drive can use the same document-sharing workflow. Interactive embedded folders let users preview files and open subfolders without leaving the site. Enterprise also works with Team Drives, also called Shared Drives.
Access depends on Drive sharing settings
Google Drive permissions determine whether visitors can view embedded files. Public documents generally need a setting such as “Anyone with the link can view,” or a higher access level. The right setting depends on the audience and the file. The plugin can be used on public websites and private intranets, including WordPress multisite networks.
