Present WordPress documents in searchable libraries

Document Library Pro is a WordPress document library and download manager. Visitors can search documents, sort columns, filter by category and download files from a library. Show every document or focus a library on a category or status. Instant AJAX search helps users locate files, and search-on-click lets them filter by selecting a category.

Supported formats include PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, OpenDocument formats, images, videos and Apple document formats. Add information to each document and select which details appear to visitors.

Use tables or paid grid layouts

Searchable, sortable tables show documents in rows. The Essentials and Advanced plans also include grid layout options. Collapsible folders can group documents into sections or categories.

Columns can display the file name, title, image, content, date, categories, download button, file size, file type, excerpt, status, last modified date and author. Rename column headings to match your organization’s terminology. Essentials and Advanced also support custom fields and custom taxonomies.

Manage files and imports

Bulk utilities include drag-and-drop upload, CSV import and importing files from the Media Library. A dedicated Documents section in the Media Library helps you manage documents separately from images and other media.

Include files from external sources

In addition to Media Library files, paid plans can include documents hosted on Dropbox, Google Drive and Office 365. The plugin can also make an individual page for each document, with details such as its filename and summary description shown before download.

Set access for libraries

Protect private libraries with a password or limit access to particular roles or user accounts. Apply access rules globally or organize them around categories and individual libraries to present public and restricted documents on the same WordPress site.

Install and place a library

1. Install the paid document library plugin on your WordPress site.
2. Add documents, file information and uploads, or import files with the available bulk tools.
3. Configure the table or grid layout, columns, search behavior, categories and access options.
4. Use the built-in Document Library page or place a library anywhere with the [doc_library] shortcode.

Shortcode options can override global settings, allowing various libraries to use their own display choices.
