Build flexible WordPress layouts
GenerateBlocks Pro adds a focused set of blocks for creating pages and posts without relying on many separate, one-purpose blocks. The collection is designed to work hand-in-hand with GeneratePress while also working with any WordPress theme. By learning a small group of versatile blocks, you can build structured sections, content layouts, text areas, calls to action, and visual components within the editor.
The Container block delivers the foundation for rows and sections. Use it to organize content into distinct areas and create custom page structures. The Grid block works with advanced, flexible layouts for arranging content in the way your design requires. Together, these blocks are suited to landing pages, editorial layouts, structured content sections, and other page-building tasks.
Core blocks for content and design
- Container: Organize content into rows and sections.
- Grid: Create flexible grid layouts.
- Text: Control headings, paragraphs, and other text-rich content with advanced typography options.
- Button: Add styled buttons for conversion-focused areas.
- Query: Build lists of posts from any post type using advanced query parameters.
- Image: Add images to make a visual statement.
- Shape: Add custom SVG shapes to pages.
GenerateBlocks Pro extends the Query block with the ability to query post meta and option fields. This is useful when a post list needs to be driven by more than standard post information.
Dynamic content and responsive controls
Dynamic tags let blocks show changing WordPress content inside your layouts. Available dynamic content includes post titles, excerpts, permalinks, dates, featured images, post meta, author meta, comment counts, comments URLs, author archive URLs, author avatars, term lists, previous post URLs, and next post URLs.
GenerateBlocks Pro adds further dynamic tags for archive titles, archive descriptions, site settings, term meta, user meta, the current year, site title, site tagline, loop index numbers, and loop item information. These options can help reuse a layout while changing the content displayed in each context.
The blocks are fully responsive, with controls for desktop, tablet, and mobile screen sizes. GenerateBlocks Pro also lets you create as many custom media queries as needed. The documented responsive ranges include desktop at 1025 pixels and above, desktop and tablet at 768 pixels and above, tablet from 768 to 1024 pixels, tablet and mobile up to 1024 pixels, and mobile below 768 pixels.
Performance-minded workflow
The add-on generates minimal CSS for the blocks used and keeps its HTML structure as simple as possible while allowing flexibility. It is built to coding standards described as supporting security, stability, and future compatibility. This approach gives you a compact toolkit for creating responsive layouts without filling the editor with numerous specialized blocks.
Installation
Install GenerateBlocks Pro in WordPress and open a new page or post. Add a block, open the GenerateBlocks category, pick a block, and begin building.
