Shop information and checkout settings

Germanized extends WooCommerce with settings for product details, checkout, customer emails, and order documents used by shops serving the German market. Add delivery times to products, optionally by country, and set a default as a fallback. Delivery times can be disabled for selected product types. Products can display base prices per unit, with automatic unit-price calculation available in Pro.

Shipping cost and tax notices can appear beneath product prices and in the cart, checkout, and emails. Short cart descriptions add product details during checkout. Shops using the small business regulation can display related notices.

Checkout options include agreement checkboxes for terms, revocation information, privacy policy, and other conditions. A visual interface lets you adjust how these checkboxes appear. Germanized also adapts the checkout and submit button for the German button solution. Customers can submit withdrawal requests through a form, and shops can display EU harmonised guarantee notices. Other available checkout utilities include customer double opt-in, optional checkout restrictions until opt-in, VAT ID validation in Pro, and multistep checkout in Pro for classic and block-based checkout.

Invoices, e-invoices, and email documents

Pro can create invoices, packing slips, cancellation documents, and commercial invoices for shipments, either automatically or manually. Adjust layouts in the visual document editor, then export documents as CSV or ZIP documents for a tax consultant or transmit them through integrations with lexware office or sevdesk. E-invoice support is included.

Attach legal pages, such as terms and conditions, as PDFs to selected WooCommerce email templates. Germanized can generate these PDFs by parsing page content. Pro also includes model text generators for terms and revocation pages. Another Pro option delays the conclusion of a contract so an order can be checked manually before the contract is concluded.

Food details, tax, and shipping

Pro food features let products display nutrients, ingredients, allergens, deposit-bottle information, and the Nutri-Score. One Stop Shop features include VAT reports for different time frames and monitoring of the delivery threshold, with notifications when it may require action.

Shipping integrations cover Deutsche Post and DHL, with DPD, GLS, and Hermes identified as Pro integrations. Generate shipment and return labels from the backend, add tracking details to notification emails, and offer supported preferred delivery services at checkout. Shipment, return, and fulfillment management through Shiptastic for WooCommerce is a separate add-on.

Other tools include Trusted Shops product integration, SEPA direct debit with XML payment export, pay-by-invoice options for selected customers, sale-price labels, and tax notices for differential-taxed products. Germanized also supports photovoltaic systems using the zero tax rate for customers who meet the legal requirements, and product defect descriptions for used goods or defective copies. Product safety information and documents can be added for GPSR requirements.

Compatibility and support

Germanized has compatibility support for WPML, the WooCommerce REST API, and product CSV import and export for custom fields such as unit prices and delivery times. The Pro offering includes tested compatibility with selected themes, including Flatsome, Enfold, Storefront, Virtue, Shopkeeper, Astra, and OceanWP, and selected WooCommerce extensions. Themes that do not follow WooCommerce hooks or styles may need adjustments.
